tourist-hotspot Yangshuo we
renovated a cluster of beautiful
old authentic farmerhouses into
a Western standard
Guesthouse. In the middle of the
farmercomplex is our cozy
welcoming courtyard where guests
meet eachother after nice active
days.
The Giggling Tree is only 300
metres away from the
picturesque Yulong-river in the
middle of the scenic valley,
surrounded by amazing
Karstmountains.
The mountains have gotten their
shape through thousands of years
of erosion.
Our guesthouse has 22 spacious
well decorated rooms. One room
is a 4-bed dorm for
backpackers on a small budget.
All other rooms are privat
rooms, all with private ensuite
Western style toilet. Prices
start from 150 yuan for a double
downstairs without AC up to 360
yuan for a beautiful big
familyroom with balcony and AC.
Our restaurant serves local
delicacies as well as great
western food. At night most
guests enjoy dinner by
candlelight in the courtyard.

terrace overlooking the
ricefileds and Karstmountains,
bikerent, laundry-service, free
tourist-information and
booking-office, wifi and laptop
free of charge, bookexchange,

When you stay or travel in China
for a while, you sometimes need

best way to do this is to get a
bicycle, take a walk or get on a
raft and enjoy the natural
beauty near “The Giggling
Tree”. It is quite common to
meet an old fisherman working on
his gear, see the duckman
guiding his flock around town,
while his wife walks the
buffalo....
The Dutch owners Karst and
Paulien have worked as
tourleaders in China for 3
years, before their dream to
start this guesthouse became
reality. In April 2007 they
opened the Giggling Tree. Within
3 years it became amazingly
popular, especially amongst
expats, families and Western
travellers.
